Educational Media Foundation Director of Digital Content in Franklin, Tennessee
The Director of Digital Content leads teams involved in audience connection through Digital Content on our Websites, Social Media, Apps, and K-LOVE and Air1 On Demand platforms. This Director will implement content capture, marketing initiatives and digital campaigns crafted with the VP of Marketing to grow existing audience engagement and to find new audiences for our platforms. The Director of Digital Content is responsible for leadership of Media Production and Digital Team members, and their innovation and execution of creative, fun, and compelling ideas. EMF utilizes close coordination and collaboration with the Programming Team and the Digital Team for alignment in the communication and marketing of EMF’s brands across all our platforms.
Proactively support our culture, leading by example in demonstrating collaboration, empowerment, innovation, creativity and service, while being a faithful witness on and off the job of EMF’s mission to create compelling media that inspires and encourages our listeners to have a meaningful relationship with Christ.
The role objectives are accomplished through collaborative hands-on mentoring, proactive planning, casting vision, and strategic leadership approaches.
Establish departmental goals and measurable outcomes, delivering results while preserving EMF’s reputation for integrity and excellence.
Inform, update and actively engage with the Vice President of Marketing and the Chief Creative Officer on departmental issues, innovative ideas, personnel issues, industry trends, and ahead of the curve ideas for serving our audiences.
Collaborate closely with other internal teams including: Programming, Design, Donor Engagement and other departments. Synergy between digital and video teams with the following channels is vital: on-air radio, podcasting, and on-demand.
Lead, collaborate and empower the Digital & Media Production team members to brainstorm, create, capture, and produce compelling, fun, and innovative content that advances the Gospel and serves EMF channel audiences.
While managing and operating our K-LOVE, Air1 and AccessMore Digital properties including our websites, all Social Media channels and other App development, be in close collaboration with EMF Radio Group Program Director.
Strategize best impact rollout plans and smart target audiences for maximum reach, growth and/or engagement based on the piece and its objectives and affinity groups.
Maintain and grow relationships with labels, artist managers, artists, publishers, authors, filmmakers, and other industry contacts.
Align short and long-term goals and performance against defined key metrics.
Utilize expertise and create a track record of success leveraging SEO, social media platform analytics, and a wide range of web data for targeting, marketing and maximum reach for the content and EMF brands.
Harness expertise and show a track record of success with short and long-form video creation.
In-depth understanding of video production including ideation, planning, shoot execution, framing, lighting, in studio and remote shoots, editing, producing, approvals and changes.
Partner with Vice President of Marketing to provide departmental leadership and direction implementing agreed-upon plans and strategies that focus on a broad range of listener engagement approaches and related mediums, technology, and support.
Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaign goals, planning, implementation, and feedback loop. Provide direction for digital and video teams as they work with approved 3rd party content providers on content generation.
Utilize SEO and other available analytics for effective targeting and re-targeting.
Leverage content in coordination with Donor Engagement to serve existing donors and audience.
Coordinate with the Audience Engagement team for audience customer service.
Provide strategic leadership for K-LOVE, Air1, AccessMore and our stream property brands through social media promotion utilizing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and emerging platforms. Be wherever a potential audience could be and leverage online opportunities to find, engage, convert, and retain listeners and supporters. Examples of expected results are:
Strongly impact organic search engine rankings
Maximize keyword placement and improve the search engine results for K-LOVE and Air1 radio brands.
Enhance brand perception and identify new target audiences.
Direct the continuous enhancement of our digital technology services, offerings, and features using best-in-class technologies.
Proactively communicate cross-functional web strategies and tactics. Ensure Programming, Listener Services, IT, and other appropriate departments stay informed of web strategies and tactics that impact Listeners to ensure cross-functional consistency and the utmost service for our listener experience.
Provide a strategic lens on analyzing web performance against key metrics regularly to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. Work with team to identify best practices in other media companies and non-profits and regularly suggest EMF improvement opportunities.
Background and Experience we are seeking
Highly experienced and respected Digital Media Leader. Responsible for at minimum 7 direct reports within digital, media, video, web or similar.
Expertise in digital analytics; collection, measurement, analysis, visualization and interpretation of digital data illustrating user behavior on websites, mobile sites and mobile applications.
Proven success in creating campaigns and exceeding projected goals.
Established industry relationships with labels, artist managers, artists, publishers, authors, and filmmakers.
Strategic, creative, analytical, collaborative leader, with strong alignment to our Mission, Beliefs & Values.
Knowledge of best practices to reach, grow and engage audience.
In-depth knowledge of video production in ideation, planning, all the way through to execution and approvals.
Solid understanding of digital technology services and using best in-class technologies.
Solid knowledge of web and media trends and technology, in addition to target demographics and experience translating that knowledge into results.
Project management experience; proven ability to plan, organize, lead and direct projects with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrate versatility and flexibility. Regularly adapts to change while maintaining a positive attitude and high productivity.
Experience with analytics report configuration within WebTrends Analytics and Google Analytics.
Demonstrate expertise in media and interactive technology and practices. Expertise with SEO/SEM, user-centered design, HTML/CSS/Flash, XML.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
Demonstrate high standards and focus on quality and overall customer experience.

Business/Marketing or related Degree, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
