Kaman Distribution Regional Operations Manager in Franklin, Massachusetts

Kaman Automation has an opening for an exceptional leader to serve as the Regional Operations Manager, based out of our Franklin, MA branch. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the Operations and Engineering Solutions Group (ESG) teams. This includes production and execution of technical projects and providing leadership to multi-function technical hourly and salary employees to ensure continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and safety and acts as liaison/partner with sales team. You will also guide the team to meet sales and customer service targets, recruit staff, identify staff coaching needs, review staff performance, and compile reporting information. As a collaborative leader, you'll have the ability to lead by example and build strong, performance driven teams.

  • Coordinates internal and external third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

  • Develops project scope, estimates and proposals; manage changes to project scope, schedule and cost; ensure projects are deliver safely on-time with build in quality within the scope and budget.

  • Successfully manages relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders, negotiating outcomes that meets the needs of both company and customers, embracing and adhering to national customer service practices.

  • Sets performance standards, goals and metrics, monitor progress striving for continued performance improvement through coaching, performance evaluations, feedback, cross training and skill development.

  • Collaborates with respective team on contract pricing levels, PROS, price bumps, and manufacturer increases.

  • Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts or otherwise negotiating with others.

  • Ensure employees are adequately trained to meet customers’ expectations, assess training needs and create effective training programs to improve efficiencies.

  • Maintains close working relationships with vendors and suppliers to optimize supplier support for the region’s sales efforts.

  • Maintains stable performance under pressure or opposition and handles stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.

  • Drives quality initiatives and maintains ISO certifications based on customer requirements. Possesses working knowledge of Lean principles and APQP.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, engineering, or business.

  • 10+ years of Industrial related technical/operations management

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, training and supervisory experience required
