The Digital Program Manager position is a key role in Black & Veatch Digital Office to achieve documented business and technical objectives including planning, monitoring, development and implementation of various ideas, initiatives, programs and projects.
Program Manager for Digital Office (50-70%):
Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for information, updates and health of all digital projects, programs and initiatives
Develop or modify processes and associated discipline and lead efforts for its consistent application and execution across all initiatives
Manage and track lifecycle of all technology ideas from ideation, due diligence, through creation of business case
Timely prepare, consolidate and communicate periodic updates for sponsors and leaders for all digital initiatives
Proactively monitor, prepare and report on overall health and performance of all digital initiatives
Track, consolidate and report on projected and actual value realized for all digital initiatives on a periodic basis
Proactively track and report cost performance of all digital initiatives
Lead efforts to cross-pollinate best practices and lessons learned across all initiatives
Acts as an advisor and builds and maintains relationships across the wider stakeholder community.
Program Manager for Digital Office (30-50%):
Lead the development of overall approach for the program, its major time frames and the definition of its major deliverables to address and meet the desired goals and outcomes.
Partner with the executive sponsor to communicate program goals, objectives and potential outcomes.
Lead regular interactions with the executive sponsor to inform, alert, negotiate and maintain a continuing good relationship and shared vision for the program outcome.
Establish and ensures appropriate governance functions for the program, in accordance with enterprise policies and practices, on behalf of the executive sponsor or senior responsible owner.
Direct the creation and maintenance of the required program documentation and artifacts.
Develop and controls the program budget and manage expenditure within agreed spending plans.
Monitors and coordinates dependencies across the projects in the program and resolves conflicts.
Lead reviews with the executive sponsor and stakeholders to identify organic or specific program needs and changes and directs the development of appropriate approaches to address.
Lead the development and maintenance of stakeholder mapping, communications and reporting.
Oversee the execution of program projects, their progress compared with the plan and the production of agreed deliverables.
Demonstrated experience in collaborating with stakeholders across diverse teams to aggregate status and health of various initiatives
Exceptional documentation and presentation skills to represent status and health of various ideas and initiatives
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and “sell” the program goals and objectives to the business, as well as technical leadership.
Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the program objectives, inspire and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with the business strategy.
Strong business acumen, including industry- and domain-specific knowledge of the organization and its business units. Familiarity with industry trends and innovation.
Ability to develop programs and deliver them with financial and resource constraints.
Experience with at least one project/program management methodology, such as:
The Project Management Institute’s (PMI’s) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
Knowledge of project planning tools, such as Microsoft Project and Project Server, with evidence of practical application.
Education : Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in IT business / industry, 5+ years of experience in leading complex technology initiatives and programs
