This position will provide maintenance support to manufacturing operations for Over-The-Counter (OTC) business consisting of processing, packaging and general plant operations. Candidate must be able to communicate and coordinate with customers/stakeholders regarding schedule and impact of work being performed. Under minimal supervision this position will perform all responsible tasks necessary to operate, trouble shoot, service, adjust, repair and maintain equipment supporting the site manufacturing and packaging processes.
The Maintenance Technician I must be able to perform a variety of tasks included but not limited to monitoring and adjustment of manufacturing equipment to improve production throughput, equipment efficiency, implementation of preventative and corrective actions, and spare parts management. He/she will be expected to have a detailed understanding of manufacturing equipment and high-level knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment used in manufacturing and packaging. Position requires knowledge of inter-relationship between mechanical, electrical, and automated PLC-based systems.
This position is in Fort Washington, PA working Monday – Friday. This position will be a second (3:00-11:30pm)
Responsibilities include equipment set-up, start-up, operational checks, troubleshooting, diagnosing, inspecting, assembling, repair and mechanical servicing of complex manufacturing and packaging equipment.
Performs the final checks and the double checks for manufacturing equipment as indicated in the preventative maintenance procedure and standard operating procedure.
Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Propose long term improvements to equipment.
Accurately completes paperwork and electronic transactions for all documentation requirements.
Assists with equipment installation, setup-up and start-up. Performs and document equipment repairs as per standard operating procedure directives.
Accountable for startup and shutdown of manufacturing and packaging equipment as per procedures to ensure accurate operation.
Maintain proper inventory levels of clean tools including ancillary equipment, pallets and containers.
Utilize control systems and appropriate instrumentation to clean major equipment (CIP/COP).
Maintains facility and work area in good working condition.
High school diploma/secondary education or equivalent and/or associates degree Certification from a Technical School in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electronics or Electro-mechanical trade or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a regulated and automated manufacturing environment.
Must have proficiency in the use of Windows MS Office.
Candidates must be able to meet the physical demand of that this position requires: continuous lifting and/or moving from 5 to 25lbs. weight material, and frequent lifting or moving average (25-50 lbs.) weight material.
Prior experience working in a Pharmaceutical/GMP manufacturing environment.
Experience in SAP-PM or equivalent Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Working knowledge of Production Automation Systems (i.e. Wonderware, MES, SAP).
