The Boeing Company Production Technician B - Ground-based Midcourse Defense Program in Fort Greely, Alaska

Boeing Global Services is currently looking for an

Interceptor Production Technician

to join their team in

Fort Greely, Alaska

. This position will s upport the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) program. The GMD system is operationally capable to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of safety and first pass quality in all operations as well as collaboration and teamwork.

Position Responsibilities:

Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.

Assisting with performing test and maintenance procedures that support missile ground processing

Works on and around ordnance, after company provided training and certification has been completed.

Assists with assembly, disassembly or overhaul.

Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.

Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.

Technicians assist and support engineering as they plan, coordinate & execute pre-launch ground processing as well as flight testing of the interceptor and assembly systems for ground and flight systems

Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.

Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).

Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of aerospace vehicles (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations). Works under general supervision.

May include post work hour shifts sparingly.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Export Control Requirement:

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

This position requires ability to obtain interim Secret U.S. Security Clearance prior to start

Minimum of 1 year experience with experience assembling, repairing, and testing mechanical and electrical components and systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Previous experience working on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) system a plus

Experience working with ordnance/rocket motors is highly desirable.

Ability to operate a Forklift, truck mounted crane, and other associated equipment a plus

Valid commercial driver’s license a plus

Required to support Boeing Team at other locations and be available for off-site training.

Must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads approximately 35 pounds.

Must be able to travel domestically.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+1 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.)

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
