These recognitions highlight LVHN's commitment to teamwork, compassion, and technology with an unrelenting focus on delivering the best health care possible every day.Whether you're considering your next career move or your first, you should consider Lehigh Valley Health Network.Job Summary: This is a Per Diem Schedule, you must be flexible to work various hours, it is not Full Time or Part Time.Responsible for greeting patients and families upon arrival and for all aspects of registration including entry and verification of patient demographic and insurance information. Schedules patient appointments (non-Emergency Department). Contacts insurance companies to verify medical coverage and pre-certification/referral requirements, if applicable. Educates patients and families regarding financial responsibilities and collects co-pays and/or visit charges. Responsible for all training and awareness of procedural changes and must demonstrate teamwork, flexibility in assignments and serve as a resource for colleagues.Minimum Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. Computer literate.One to two years' experience in a customer service role, hospital setting or a physician registration and insurance verification position.Proficient keyboarding skills required. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Excellent communication skills, i.e., telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills, and exhibit exemplary customer service principles. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Must be self-directed and able to prioritize duties. Must be able to travel between locations and have the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree preferred.Two years' experience performing registration and insurance verification functions.Bilingual - Spanish/English preferred.Licensure and Certifications: NoInfluenza vaccination is required at most LVHN facilities for all colleagues with patient contact unless medically contraindicated or due to a bona fide religious belief or practice, and is strongly encouraged for all colleagues.
