Assists in the creation and/or maintenance and coordination of one or more academic programs within a unit designed to meet specific goals in the Masters of Public Health (MPH). Ensures the implementation of policies and practices, and assists in conducting oversight, review, and analysis of the effectiveness and compliance of the program(s).
Program Development - 35%
Assists in the development of program content; monitors program metrics and performance; maintains operation of the program.
Ensures program compliance with all applicable university, state, federal, or other laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines specific to Applied Practice Experience placements and affiliation agreements and assists with Applied Practice Experience planning and paperwork.
Maintains records of program participants and program data, which may include inputting or updating data in a database.
Distributes, collects, and processes forms and documents related to the program(s) to include managing the MPH and Graduate Certificate admissions process.
Researches, summarizes, and analyzes information regarding program participation; calculates statistics and compiles data to prepare special and/or recurring reports. This will include assisting with our pursuit of CEPH accreditation of our MPH programs (including correspondence, site visit organization, survey management, and data collection/management).
Finance Management - 20%
- Contributes to the creation of the program budget and monitors budget for program expenditures; advises department leadership on discrepancies with expenditures to include managing day-to-day MPH-related financial requests.
Department Liaising - 20%
Acts as a liaison for program to potential or current students, staff, faculty, or external stakeholders or constituents to include assisting with Graduate Research Project planning and paperwork.
Delivers presentations and develops materials to communicate information about the program(s).
Conduct community outreach and work with NAU Marketing to expand MPH and Graduate Certificate-related marketing aimed at growing our programs.
Acts as the main point of general information contact for program participants and other program stakeholders or constituents, and MPH alumni, including telephone and email communications; answers questions regarding the program.
May be responsible for event coordination in relation to program(s).
May schedule and participate in meetings or committees on behalf of the program(s).
Training and Supervision - 20%
Trains and advises others on program guidelines and details to include managing and updating of the MPH and Graduate Certificate website.
May supervise or oversee student or temporary employees.
Other - 5%

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
2 - 4 years of relevant experience
Experience working with Native American Students and/or programs
Experience working with Graduate Students
Experience working with program budgets and monitoring budget for program expenditures
Experience in developing program content, monitor program metrics, and maintaining the operation of the program
Experience with event coordination
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures related to program area.
Knowledge of budgeting and account reconciliation principles.
Knowledge of organizational practices and principles.

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The salary range for this position begins at $41,421.
**The starting salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected applicant balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.
This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position.
