From our Farnborough campus we execute world class projects for leading clients in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, Nuclear, Power, Mining, Industrial, Transportation, Telecommunications and Government sectors. Such projects range from early studies and conceptual designs to basic design/front-end engineering design packages (FEEDs), through to detailed design, engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction.
We are now looking to expand our Farnborough based Material Management group and have exciting career opportunities for those who can demonstrate that they have the technical ability and business acumen to help push Fluor’s continuous drive for excellence, and the personal attributes to be a significant contributor to the Fluor UK team.
Fluor Limited wishes to employ a world class project procurement leader with extensive experience of working within blue chip EPC contracting organisations for major international and national clients in the oil and gas industry.
The successful candidate’s leadership experience will have covered all aspect of procurement on major and complex FEED, EPCm, EPC and EPFC projects within the oil and gas industry including at least two major fixed price lump sum projects.
In addition to possessing exemplary EPC procurement execution skills, they will be charismatic leaders and expert communicators at all levels with a passion and drive for excellence.
The successful candidate will already have the capability and experience required to lead the procurement effort on demanding, complex, risk projects and proposals in the range $500 million to $multi-billion, confidently applying their extensive execution knowledge, commercial skills, market expertise and business acumen to develop and implement risk assessed procurement execution strategies that will deliver success across the complete project execution effort, from design through fabrication, construction and pre-commissioning, from project inception to job close out.
They will have demonstrably contributed to their employer’s bottom line by applying their leadership skills, expert commodity and market knowledge, innovative thinking and outstanding commercial capability to the procurement effort on major risk projects.

Strong knowledge and experience of prime contract flow-down and the appropriate application of terms and conditions, bank and performance guarantees, etc.
Good knowledge and experience of project funding implications, currency hedging and cash flow management
Extensive experience of supplier capability assessment and pre-qualification.
Extensive knowledge of major equipment and material fabrication processes
Excellent market and oil and gas industry commodity knowledge
Solid experience of supplier quality control
A sound understanding of the engineering, design and construction processes on EPC projects, their sequencing and deliverables and the key interfaces with procurement
An understanding of bulk material planning on multi-destination projects
Good understanding of logistics
Expertise in negotiation: developing negotiation strategy, leading and performing major negotiations.
The ability to see the big picture coupled with the knowledge to know when to drill down to test the detail
Outstanding team leadership and organisational skills
