CTS Corporation Application Engineer in Farmington Hills, Michigan

br/CTS Corporationbr/br/Location: bFarmington Hills, MI/bbr/br/bJob/Position Summary/bbrbr This position will provide Resident Engineer/Sales support on site at General Motors. Key responsibilities include acting as a liaison for all new product and technologies as well as identifying new opportunities to help expand our product portfolio. brbrbMajor Areas of Responsibility/bbrbr liServe as liaison between the customer's engineering group and CTS with respect to all design and application issues/li liProvide on-site technical support for all customer and CTS meetings for new product development and current product applications/li liFormalize specifications for new products and/or assembly applications with respect to customer requirements, design intent, and cost effective test methods and requirements/li liSupport advanced quality planning activities for new products consistent with CTS guidelines and customer expectations. This would include, but not be limited to, design FMEA's, design validation, feasibility studies, and design of experiments/li liSupport the acquisition of knowledge with respect to all mechanical and electronic systems interactions to which our products are applied in order to meet customer needs/li /ul brbrbRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/bbrbr liAbility to understand customer standards, specs and requirements as they pertain to CTS products, capabilities and systems reporting metrics/li liProven track record of driving new ideas and product opportunities into the customer and delivering customer requirements and methodologies back to CTS/li liA strong understanding of product development with intimate knowledge of customer program management requirements/li liStrong communication skills and the ability to negotiate at high levels of customer management and deliver CTS message/li /ul brbrbSupplier Electrical Engineer Resident Roles Responsibilities/bbrbr li General: /li liThe supplier resident will assume responsibility for the electrical development and release of the Product(s) to be supplied./li liWhere multiple programs are under contract, a resident engineer may be assigned to more than one program./li /ul li Become proficient in the following GM Process/databases/tools: /li liECR - Engineering Work Order and Part Ordering system/li liPRTS, ESIMS - Problem/Issue Tracking systems/li liAPM - Part Drawing system/li liEmbassy - Pre-Production Vehicle Build Tracking system/li liTeam Center - Specification / Document repository database/li liGART - Warranty tracking system/li li Support the following Electrical activities: /li liSchedule and coordinate Design Reviews/li liCoordinate and manage Product Development Team (PDT) meetings./li liPrepare project plans, track vehicle timing requirements and part availability dates/li liOrder and track part deliveries/li liHave access to supplier electrical circuit schematics and subcomponent specifications/li liResponsible with the failure mode and effects analysis process/li liDetermine and investigate design and mechanization alternatives/li liCheck 3D data and prepare 2D drawings according to design guidelines/li liPerform electrical packaging and bracket design studies/li liParticipate in Module packaging in vehicle./li liAssist with the updating of system requirements/li liResolve issu
