Town of Falmouth Maintenance Worker - Parks Division in Falmouth, Massachusetts
The Town of Falmouth is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker in the DPW, Parks Department. Responsibilities include, participating in public works construction and maintenance projects for town owned property, trees, facilities and structures including repair and servicing of public works facilities, parks, playgrounds, recreation areas, school grounds and cemeteries. Cares for trees using hydraulic, truck mounted bucket hoist; prunes to eliminate hazards and preserve the beauty of trees on streets and in parks and other public property; performs tree surgery, plants and transplants trees; works at nursery; fells dead or dangerous trees and cuts off limbs; removes overhanging branches. Operates air compressor, jackhammer and related equipment as necessary including: power saws, concise, wood chipper, stump grinder, aerial equipment and miscellaneous other tools and equipment pertinent to forestry and insect and disease control. Performs manual work in digging and back filling excavations; handles and transports heavy materials. High school graduation or equivalent; one year of experience in public works construction and maintenance activities or tree maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of valid MA Class B Commercial Driver?s License with Air Brake endorsement, MA Hoisting Engineer License, Restriction 2-B, and OSHA-10 Certification or ability to obtain CDL within 180 days of hire.
