Northrop Grumman Tax Provision Associate in Falls Church, Virginia

The Tax Provision Associate is part of the Federal Tax Reporting team located at Northrop Grumman's corporate office in Falls Church, Virginia. The Tax Provision Associate will report to the Senior Manager of Federal Tax Reporting.

The Tax Provision Associate will be responsible for applying tax knowledge and experience to preparing tax provision work papers including obtaining and analyzing source data, understanding tax issues, recognizing and communicating potential risks and communicating effectively with team and stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740

• Analysis and calculation of complex book to tax adjustments

• Analysis and calculation of FIN 48 UTPs and interest

• Tax analysis leveraging SAP, Corptax and other software

• Cumulative deferred tax analysis

• Preparation of projections

• Preparation of journal entries and tax account reconciliations

• Tax research and documentation

• Assist with federal and state income tax compliance

• Contribute to process improvements, workflow alignment, and streamlining

• Communicate effectively within department and company


Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting OR active CPA License

• Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience; OR Master's

degree with 1 year of relevant experience

• Tax experience in Public Accounting Firm

• Experience in ASC 740 and federal and state tax compliance

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Tax

• Big 4 Public Accounting Firm experience

• CPA License

• Experience with Corptax, Adobe Acrobat, SAP, and tax research software

• Team focused approach to work

• Ability to multitask, manage projects, and perform tax research

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
