Position Summary:Are you passionate about E-Sports?! If you enjoy teamwork, creativity, and being a resource for fellow students, come join our new E-Sports program at UAF Center for Student Engagement.

Duties:

100Gaming Operations: The Esports Student Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the UAF Esports Arena is operational during posted hours. This will include regular maintenance/cleaning of PCs and consoles, along with controllers and miscellaneous peripherals, as well as the arena itself.

Software Management: The Esports Student Assistant will assist in the administrative operations of software management. This will include running updates on the machines daily/weekly and adherence to any applicable licensing rights to games offered in the arena. This position will also provide recommendations to the Esports Coordinator on which games should be added or removed from the gaming systems.

Programming: The Esports Student Assistant will be responsible for assisting with and planning weekly and monthly programs. This may include bracket tournaments, short seasons, charitable events, and other engaging programming that will foster a positive gaming culture on the UAF campus and the wider community.

Content Creation: The Esports Student Assistant will help in advertising events, surveying students, and gathering relevant information to conduct their duties. The Esports Student Assistant would also help manage the social media accounts for UAF Esports. A background in broadcasting on Twitch and using OBS is a plus.

Broadcasting: The Esports Student Assistant will be responsible for locating and scheduling talent for hosting live-streamed events. EssentialEssential

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• General knowledge of E-Sports, particularly League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros.

• General knowledge about hardware and software necessary to perform their duties

• Possess good organizational skills

• Possess exceptional attention to detail

• Ability to work flexible hours

• Ability to be productive with minimal supervision

• Ability to work 15-20 hours/week

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must have the following requisites: 1) They must be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; 2) Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA)

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

Previous experience working with students and/or communities for event planning. Candidates should be able to learn different software programs. Candidates should have a general understanding of E-Sports culture.
