PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position will be mainly responsible for the planning and development of the annual budget and generation of quarterly forecasts in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting for long periods of time. Some bending, stooping and stretching required. Working under stress and use of telephone required. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate computer keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator and other office equipment.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with consideration for work at home accommodations. Work may be stressful at times due to deadlines.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Prepare Monthly Operating Reports by summarizing detailed financial statements and describing major trends in the business and describe variances to previously prepared business plans and forecasts.
Support the preparation and development of the Annual Budget, including market positioning, financial summary data, metrics, and top business priorities.
Update Forecasts on a quarterly basis and submit to Regional financial analytics.
Work closely with accounting department to support the forecasting of provider and staff compensation and Human Resources to assess appropriate levels of staffing.
Work closely with Payor Contracting and Quality to accurately project changes in payor reimbursement and annual quality and shared risk programs.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations to clearly communicate forecasted performance and variances to budget and forecasts.
Attend OMG department meetings as needed.

Experience and Skills:
Ability to prepare PowerPoint presentations from detailed financial statements and summarize complex business activity.
Knows where to obtain all relevant data and uses financial reporting software to efficiently meet the reporting needs of local and regional management.
Good understanding of healthcare terminology, insurance contract language and professional payment methodologies, including a good understanding of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
Ability to communicate clearly and provide direction to Operations staff in submission of budget requests.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from local and regional management.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and interdependently with multiple teams.
Good project management skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects in relation to the organization’s strategic and tactical focus.
Ability to work with interruptions and changing work priorities, and under tight deadlines.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in finance, accounting, public health or economics, or four to six years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS: Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel knowledge and strong PowerPoint presentation skills. Must have contracts database management experience. Experience using SQL programming is a plus.
EXPERIENCE: At least two years of related experience required. Three years of experience working in healthcare finance/economics preferred.
