Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

As the largest mortgage originator and servicer in the country, understanding the value of real estate is critical. Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS) serves as an independent risk management function within Corporate Credit that:

  • Interprets appraisal regulation and sets Corporate Valuation Policy

  • Communicates with regulators on pending and proposed regulations

  • Assumes responsibility for ensuring that compliant valuation processes and practices are in place for all valuations across Wells Fargo

  • Leads the industry in real estate valuation processes and execution

The RE Valuation Support Consultant- Strategic Leader will be responsible for performing a number of job duties including but not limited to:

  • Broaden and strengthen the depth of the cohesiveness of the culture across the Valuation Team to ensure strategies, approaches, and practices consistently align, enhance, and are executed in support of the REVS strategic vision, objectives, and goals.

  • Lead cross functional efforts to strategize, plan, develop, execute, and measure complex real estate valuation related cost efficiency and effectiveness efforts to deliver REVS Valuation Team objectives and goals. Initiate, evaluate, monitor, or create process improvement initiatives to make the REVS Valuation Team more efficient and effective while at the same time managing and mitigating risk.

  • Align Valuation Team initiatives to priorities to ensure focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Work with REVS leaders to ensure resource allocation to initiatives.

  • Work with REVS Valuation Team leadership to build and strengthen succession planning, overall appraiser bench strength, and residential and commercial skillset cross-team functional training

  • In conjunction with the REVS Training and Development Leader, work across REVS groups and within the Valuation Team to identify potential talent and recruit candidates into the residential and commercial associate training programs.

  • Focus on strengthening, building, and recruiting a diverse and inclusive team and environment which supports diversity practices and corporate objectives that drive the business forward

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: lending, valuation, or underwriting

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strategic planning and development experience

  • Ability to create and improve process through strategic thinking

  • Strong relationship management skills

  • Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
