Visions Federal Credit Union Business Development Officer NY in Endwell, New York


Position Purpose/Summary: This position will be responsible and accountable for building relationships, identifying and successfully increasing existing business, as well as developing new business avenues for the credit union by offering memberships, and its products and services to prospects. This individual will act as primary liaison with outside Select Employer Groups (SEGs), business partners and educational groups. The Business Development Officer acts as the primary liaison for all business fairs, underserved organizations and municipalities to network and increase Visions’ name recognition in all regions.

Education & Experience: We pride ourselves in our advocacy for education, growth, and opportunity for experience at Visions Federal Credit Union. This position would minimally require an Associate’s Degree and 2 years of business development experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All duties and responsibilities align with Visions Federal Credit Union and are subject to reform at-will of the company. Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

Along with Business Development Manager creates business development campaigns to introduce new products / services or increase members’ usage of existing services.

Build, manage, and maintain a portfolio of businesses and prospective businesses to assist in meeting new membership and loan goals for the organization.

Build top-of-mind awareness of the credit union and present products and services through phone calls and in-person visits, while fostering a relationship and increasing business.

Develop business development strategies and perform outreach efforts within the territory to grow membership.

Create, write and / or edit all business development materials.

Plan and coordinate all special events to include, but not limited to, community receptions, grand openings, etc.

Initiate and maintain contact with business partners and SEGs and schedule on-going visits to promote Credit Union membership.

Updates all SEG information centers and reports on a quarterly basis. Prepares monthly status reports of Business Development initiatives.

Researches all communities / regions we serve for community events for involvement and participation.

Perform market research to identify new business opportunities to grow membership in the assigned territory.

Partner with the Business Services team to offer business services to our current business partners and Select Employer Groups (SEGs) to grow the business services portfolio

Engage internal and external stakeholders to identify new business partners to grow membership base.

Advance new accounts through the new account pipeline utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.

Acts as liaison with company representative, performs follow-up employee meetings and works out any concerns or problems as needed. This position provides a channel of communication between organization and credit union and opens membership accounts on-site for members.

Solicits businesses to determine interest in the Credit Union as a benefit for their company. Makes personal visits and solicits new business. Maintains company listings to include but not be limited to: contact information, direct deposits, biographical information, directions and information board history.

Coordinates all new member promotions with branches (logs, branch procedures, gift deliveries, etc.).

Identify and resolve problems or service concerns causing SEG or member dissatisfaction.

Works as liaison with Chamber of Commerce and local municipalities.

Submits suggestions and ideas for improving efficiency, productivity and results of Business Development efforts.

Develop tracking reports necessary to show all SEG, educational contacts, and business member products/services and penetration results based on the initiatives of this position. Provides monthly status report of contacts made.

Manual dexterity for working with papers, files, various office machines, keyboarding, etc.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Travel will be required for this position.

Usual Work Environment/Equipment Used: This position operates in a professional office environment, with expectation to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, Microsoft Office, etc.
