verizon MATERIEL ATTENDANT in Elmsford, New York

Summary

A Materiel Attendant is generally a skilled position involved with ordering, selecting, staging and delivering supplies and media.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: A. Maintains stocks in storerooms and lockers.B. Select and disburse materiel as required.C. Checks inventories and receipts for materiels from suppliers.D. Maintains records of supplies as required, and does general housekeeping.E. Loads incoming supplies, tools, equipment, etc., into bins and on shelving.F. Receives and reclassifies all types of returned materiel as to proper disposition.G. Loads and unloads trucks.H. Stages all materiels for delivery.I. Operates various types of materiel handling equipment.J. May at times drive a Company vehicle, up to 18,000 lbs. MGW to various building locations in all areas where required.K. Lifts materiel weighing up to 75 lbs., and shares in lifting other heavy and/or large equipment.L. Sorts and delivers mail on a scheduled basis to various locations.M. Picks up and delivers deposits and other media to banks, and other locations as required.N. May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.

Qualifications

A. Tests – Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy.B. Normal Medical authorization for this job except if previously taken and is still considered valid.C. Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record, where driving is part of the job. D. Ability to drive vehicles with standard transmission may be required in some locations.E. Satisfactory performance rating in present job.F. Satisfactory attendance/punctuality record in present job.G. Must be available to work scheduled tours designated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or the needs of the business. Associates may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as the needs of the business necessitate.

Additional Information

This opportunity is a full time temporary three year assignment. Applicants must have a valid Class A or B CDL. Preferred qualification of a minimum of 3 years driving experience. The work tours may vary but standard tours are scheduled between Monday through Friday from 6AM to 3PM with weekends, evenings, overtime and holidays as needed by the business. Applicant may be required to work out of other garages within the borough depending on the needs of the business.
