Eaton Corporation Value Stream Manager, Assemblies in El Paso, Texas

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Value Stream Manager - Assemblies to join our team.

The Value Stream Manager - Assemblies within the CRDS (Commercial & Residential Distribution Systems) organization is responsible for:

Leading efforts within the business to industrialize and produce new and existing products, develop operational capability, lead cost out and quality improvement programs, and lead business and manufacturing process development related to the assembly of electronic circuit breakers in automated high-speed production lines. The position leverages industry leading project management techniques and Eaton business system tools.

In this role you will:

  • Lead industrialization processes according to published best practices with the objective of achieving flawless execution, leverage EBS tools and lead process technologies including Industry 4.0.

  • Deploy industrialization practices such as Lean/6 sigma, DFM/A, APQP, and cost modeling software for products within the value stream to optimize operating costs and inventory levels.

  • Work within various engineering teams to address manufacturability of new/existing products, within the framework of PROLaunch

  • Work with process subject matter experts to incorporate best practices in areas such as automated product assembly and test, parts production (e.g. molding and stamping), and leveraging of supplier management approaches.

  • Perform cost and investment analyses to assist operations teams in the selection of appropriate manufacturing approaches including complete value stream costs and benefits including supply chain, make vs buy, internal production processes, and logistics.

  • Develop PROLaunch documentation and prepare work packages for review by divisional functional leadership. Prepare periodic status review and present to senior leadership.

  • Maintain budget control for assigned capital and expenses; track and forecast spending in coordination with division Finance staff.

  • Provide a safe working environment for all employees and facilitate the Management of Environment, Health and Safety initiatives.

  • Define, track, and report key business measures related to the Value Stream and product line.

  • Manage and direct all production activities.

  • Manage and direct all Value Stream engineering activities under the functional support and direction of Manufacturing engineering and OPEX

  • Prepare short term and long-term business plans that drive for a focus on customer satisfaction.

  • Participate in the development of the Plant Strategic Alignment.

  • Actively support the marketing/sales and product development plans.

  • Actively promote the development and deployment of improved manufacturing processes that positively impact safety, quality, productivity, profitability, and market share under the functional support and guidelines of Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operational Excellence

  • Assure that production operations embrace the Eaton Business System (EBS). Lead plant through continuous improvement events, to drive higher levels of performance within the Eaton Quality Management System (EQS) and the Eaton Lean Six-Sigma (ELSS) business tools.

  • Actively sponsor and support all lean deployment activities

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering/Technology from an accredited institution required

  • Engineering background with the ability to work a cross a functional team setting, with the ability to effectively influence and impact across work groups at all levels in the organization.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with knowledge or familiarity with the following:

  • Manufacturing Engineering

  • ProLaunch NPI; PROLaunch STP

  • Program/Project Management

  • Continuous Improvement/ Lean

  • Industrialization experience of products

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering/Business preferred, additional post graduate academic studies in Operations Management a plus

  • Strong Leadership Competencies (Leveraging Resources, Vision and Purpose, Strategic Thinking, Accountability)

  • Able to manage multiple projects/programs simultaneously

  • Strong problem solving and creativity skills

  • Highly automated mass volume operations management experience

  • Experience in strategic and annual planning

  • Experience with project planning

  • Experience in international operations support

  • Experience with working with suppliers

  • Bi-lingual, English and Spanish

  • Experience with CIF, Lean, Six Sigma, Quality Management Systems, and EHS implementations associated with highly automated mass volume operations

  • Financial acumen and experience with business case development

  • Working knowledge of business management systems (MRP, order management)

  • Working knowledge of sustainability issues

  • Has led major improvement initiatives without direct reporting authority

  • Effective communicator within environments ranging from shop floor kaizen teams to operations leadership stakeholder groups.
