Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Establishes, or recommends to management, major accounting strategies, objectives, and policies for the Agency.

Recommends modifications to existing financial programs and implementation of new programs.

Responsible for management of the Finance, HCS and Grants Accounting, A/P, and Payroll Departments.

Prepares reports which summarize and forecast agency business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and cash flow based on the past, present, and expected operations.

Directs preparation of Annual Operating Budgets, reviews budget proposals, Directs Annual Budget Training, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.

Provides CFO and management with timely reviews of the Agency?s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.

Directs determination of annual depreciation schedules for capital assets including additions and disposals.

Arranges for audits of agency?s departments and accounts.

Prepares reports required by the Jewish Federation, regulatory agencies and Grant Foundations.

Establishes and maintains relations with banks and other financial institutions, including daily cash management.

Responsible for arranging for and/or providing appropriate financial training and education to Agency staff.

Oversees monthly financial statement preparation.

Keeps informed of current developments, trends and practices that pertain to achieving the overall success of the Agency?s financial efforts.
