Core functions of the digital product management team includes developing product charters and business vision documents, developing and maintaining product roadmaps, defining product features based on external and internal needs, maintaining a backlog of user stories, working with integrated design and development teams to deliver functionality, reporting on product performance, staying abreast of competing products, and communicating with external users and internal stakeholders across the organization.  

The Digital Product Manager works closely with leadership from OptumRx’s user experience, information technology, marketing, operations and business teams to deliver digital self-service capabilities that ensure an exceptional online experience for OptumRx constituents. The Digital Product Manager is responsible for supporting OptumRx’s digital product strategy through researching, formulating, and enabling the transformation of OptumRx’s provider focused digital product offerings.

*Primary Responsibilities: *

  • Lead the development of new capabilities, as well as drive and enhance existing capabilities for digital products and experiences, from inception to launch

  • Drive world class change to the OptumRx Provider digital experience by developing a significant understanding of the business and providers we serve. This resource is expected to develop in depth knowledge of internal and external processes/procedures, identifying gaps/operational inefficiencies, and collaborating with IT partners to develop innovative, cost effective, technology solutions that reduce operational expenditures, increase script capture, and improve the online provider experience

  • Create business vision documents and conduct cost benefit analyses for potential enhancements or new initiatives, presenting the benefits of the enhancement/initiative to stakeholders/capital committees to gain financial funding, and managing the capital budget to completion of the project/program

  • Partner with Digital Delivery teams on the creation of requirements, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Using Agile/Scrum/Waterfall frameworks and methodologies to ensure the business vision and objectives are implemented, and displaying the solution is meeting market and stakeholder expectations through analytics

  • Ensure digital solutions are delivered in scope, on time and under budget, including identifying and mitigating risks and issues. Also partnering to ensure operations readiness, marketing/communications, and training are accounted for with every release

  • Develop a roadmap and vision for the provider portal through using a vigorous approach, prioritizing online product needs based voice of the customer/stakeholder feedback/research/data analysis, marketing insights, competitive intelligence, business needs, and trends in online technology and user experience

  • Support the development of market, sales strategies and value propositions, assisting our implementation managers in sales presentations to the external market

  • Develop various communication elements to socialize / explain / educate stakeholders on project status to facilitate decision making with the business pillars and other partners. Utilize influencing skills to build a collaborative culture and foster relationships with both internal and external strategic partners

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience as a high-performing digital product manager, leading online products, user experience, content, design and production in healthcare environments which must include:

  • Discovery

  • Gathering Requirements

  • Writing User Stories

  • User Acceptance Testing

  • Creating Features

  • 3+ years of project/program management experience working across a large and complex organization

  • 3+ years of experience with Agile software development processes and leading an Agile team using recognized Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, etc.)

  • Experience utilizing content management platforms (Adobe Experience Manager, Websphere, etc.)

  • Experience using Rally (Agile tool)

  • Experience guiding creative, technical and business line professionals across a large, diverse organization

  • Experience using voice of the customer, analytics, and market intelligence to drive product feature and functionality strategy

  • Experience performing data analysis to drive meaningful insights and strategy

  • Extensive practical experience and sound theoretical understanding of relevant professional disciplines, including product management, project management, web design, web authoring and publishing, information architecture, web content strategy, usability and accessibility, data analysis/analytics, and user experience design

  • Experience developing KPIs and working with analytics teams to drive insights into capability performance

  • Experience presenting to stakeholders and senior or executive leadership

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working collaboratively in a matrixed environment at all levels and ability to lead across business lines using influencing skills

  • Pharmacy or PBM product experience

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
