Position is recognized as a global a technical leader with expertise in process development and engineering technologies, digital solutions and pilot plant scale-up capability. The individual will lead an organization based in all four Mondelez regions. Accountable for identifying innovative, complex technology opportunities to drive strategic initiatives that enable the Beverages, Gum & Candy and Meals (BGCM) category objectives. Solutions will meet both the technical as well as consumer first deliverables. This is a leadership role that serves as a senior technical resource for the organization, interfacing regularly with senior management inside and outside the RDQ function. Is an active leader for the overall Global Process and Seamless Enterprise Technical Communities
How you will contribute
Role provides strategic thought leadership and translates the overall BGCM (Beverages, Gum & Candy, Meals) category strategy into a robust category process development agenda, constructs global project portfolios, and plans resources across multiple technical and product format platforms. Actively pursues new process technologies and applies them to innovate, improve overall conversion efficiencies, enable sustainability objectives, and to build a technology pipeline with external partners taking advantage of scientific insights to create new process transformation methods. Is a visible champion of our Digital FIRST development approach including development and application of the tools and models that enable predictive successful commercial outcomes of consumer preferred products, consistent manufactured quality, best in class process capability and conversion efficiency KPIs. A strong Influencer of business strategy (e.g. cross-category senior VPs) leveraging critical thinking and technical thought leadership to benefit the business.
Is responsible for the development and execution of the category capital strategic plan with a primary focus on creating world class R&D pilot plant network capability. Role is an enterprise thought leader that creates and continuously evolves the global pilot network comprised of 5+ global operating locations to support R&D developers across multiple region and global platform teams.
This is also a leadership role that will requires creating a culture that creates / protects intellectual property to give the company a long term competitive advantage and that encourages the team to discover, develop and deploy process technology platforms, deliver novel processes, be continuous learners, elevate technical rigor and implement best practices globally. Role will foster a culture of collaboration across the Global Process Development and Seamless Enterprise Technical Community setting consistent ways of working. Will continuously grow and develop a diverse talent base that exceeds business needs and help build the global pool of technical talent.

Senior-level technical leadership skills in process development including leading process development departments, ideally in fast moving consumer goods environment
Influencing business strategy (e.g. cross-category senior VPs) through critical thinking and technical thought leadership that has translated into significant business benefit

Coaching and mentoring others in a global process community and department

What you need to know about this position:
What extra ingredients you will bring: Courageous leadership, strong communication skills. Seasoned experience in leading remote teams with geographic and cultural diversity.
Education / Certifications: BS in Chemical Engineering or relevant Engineering degree with Experience in: R&D or Engineering Leadership roles focused on Process Development and Pilot Scale Capability (12+ years)
Direct and Indirect Management of R&D teams in FMCG, with global scope preferred (8+ years)
Develop and commercialization of process technologies utilizing digital tools and pilot scale feasibility (6+yrs).
Job specific requirements:
Preferred Experience: Exposure to process oriented categories (Beverages, Dairy, Gum, Candy)
Travel requirements: 10- 15% travel (post COVID)
Work schedule: Normal daily work schedule and flexibility
