Blue Cross NC is seeking a highly motivated Team Leader to join our Data & Analytics department. In this role you will be in the Business Consulting Solutions vertical and will be responsible for leading data analysis and reporting for Employer Groups.   • Use independent judgment and initiative to review, analyze and develop solutions for business systems. Identify and quantify the business impact of those solutions.

  • Lead initiatives for analysis and development of business processes to ensure quality, cost effectiveness, timeliness of customer service, and regulatory requirements and mandates are met.

  • Lead department projects and supports corporate projects through all phases of the project life cycle.

  • Act as expert for the supported line of business and Insights Analysts.

  • Act as departmental lead on large, complex area projects.

  • Ensure efficiency of tools for supported business area use and for advanced trend analysis.

  • Train/Coach others on appropriate testing protocol, execution and test plan creation.

  • Provide analytical support and ad hoc analysis including design and database queries to extract necessary data.

  • Use business knowledge to determine project requirements, resolve business issues and identify changes or barriers to success.

  • Negotiate requirements with customers to ensure optimal value.

  • Provide consultative services to management in support of all business strategies.

  • Identify complex trends and make recommendations to business areas to effectively assist them with decision making on operational or other business issues

  • Monitor and perform in-depth analysis of data for customers to determine areas of improvement or where investigation is needed.

Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, quantitative social science, computer science, information systems, math, statistics, business or finance and 5 year of data management experience and analyzing large data sets in a business environment.

  • If no degree, 7 years of data management experience and analyzing large data sets in a business environment.

  • Previous experience supervising staff or leading projects.

Hiring Preferences

  • Advanced degree.

  • Experience in the health care industry.

  • Evidence of independent research, and analytical, problem solving skills.

  • Experience in SAS/SQL or other programming language.

  • Advanced understanding of relational database systems and uses.

  • Knowledge of tactical and strategic strategies
