LabCorp is recruiting for a BI Analyst for a dynamic team in either Burlington headquarters or RTP, NC.

Job Summary:

The IT Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is primarily responsible for the design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. These applications include both new development and ongoing support for various LabCorp Holdings business units, including our Corporate IT function.

The IT Business Intelligence Analyst will support and implement solutions using best-in-breed business intelligence tooling, to harness various disparate data sources coupled with our high speed data platform. For our Corporate IT function reporting, this position supports the following:

  • Collecting, analyzing and delivering metrics to drive IT efficiency and improve service on a global basis

  • Analyzing data from IT tools to determine trends and identify potential training and process improvement opportunities.

  • Partnering with key stakeholders across the IT organization including the IT Service Desk, Service Engagement Managers, Business Relationship Managers, and Service Owners to analyze data that will drive recommendations for improvement

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Participate on cross-functional project teams and initiatives, to design and deploy business intelligence solutions.

  • Design and deploy dashboards, analytical reports and metrics tailored to track trends and justify future business initiatives.

  • Monitor and process weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting needs for various services and programs.

  • Identify, investigate, and make recommendations to resolve data anomalies and BI platform performance issues.

  • Provide insights by understanding business needs and comparing to trends in data.

  • Clarify data inconsistencies and offer technical assistance/expertise as necessary.

  • Assemble comprehensive metrics by mining data from multiple sources and evaluating those metrics against internal and industry benchmarks.

  • Partner with internal customers to gather business requirements & develop solutions (tools) that best satisfy those requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an analytical role, with demonstrated experience developing metrics, identifying trends, designing dashboards and reports using enterprise business intelligence tools.

  • 3-5 years of hands on experience with developing BI content in Tableau, SAP Business Objects or Cognos BI.

  • 1-3 years of experience in SQL development.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite of products, including competency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization.

  • Experience with translating analytical and technical information into a user-friendly format o Understanding of using ETL (extract, transfer, load) and replication processes to centralize and standardize data coming from one or more source systems.

Preferred

  • Experience with the following:

  • BI content development with very large underlying data sets

  • Java Script development.

  • ServiceNow software.

  • Splunk.

  • Tableau Server deployments

Requirements

Minimum Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline

  • 3-5 years of experience in an analytical role, with demonstrated experience developing metrics, identifying trends, designing dashboards and reports using enterprise business intelligence tools.

  • 3-5 years of hands on experience with developing BI content in Tableau, SAP Business Objects or Cognos BI.
