NCR is quickly accelerating its adoption of GCP and Azure Cloud technology and these applications will need to provide our customers with the enterprise grade performance and availability they have come to expect. The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role will be building tools and providing subject matter expertise to all of NCR’s major lines of business. NCR has taken an “automate everything” approach to building, deploying and operating their services. As part of the team, you get to establish yourself as a technical leader by exposing yourself to a broad range of industry leading technologies that will help to drive the acceleration of NCR software portfolio.

Key Responsibilities of the Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

  • Focus on creating reusable templates for core infrastructure creation in both Google Cloud Platform (primarily) and Microsoft Azure virtual private clouds (VPC)

  • Write scripts and automation code to provision VPC, configure networks, provision infrastructure (network/compute instances) and assign Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to users

  • Develop integrations between our third-party tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, Jenkins)

  • Provide operational support for shared CI/CD using Jenkins and AppSec tooling

  • Help to increase efficiency, eliminate downtime and drive performance across all cloud platforms

  • Work with product management and development teams to create SLI/SLOs

  • Assist with reviewing documentation for migrating applications from on-premise to cloud

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Experience with CI/CD tools and technology; like Jenkins, Harness, GitHub and Artifactory

  • Knowledge of GCP/Azure/AWS Cloud infrastructure/networks

  • Knowledge of GCP/Azure/AWS Cloud project/subscription constructs

  • Experience with application management/monitoring services such as App Insights/StackDriver/Prometheus/Dynatrace

  • Excellent analysis, debugging, root-cause identification, and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to document and publish recommendations and guidance

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years in Dev Ops / Site Reliability Engineering

  • Experience with Kubernetes or other container-based technology

  • Experience with Linux, Shell Scripting, PKI TLS/SSL, Network, firewalls, load balancers and backup

  • Experience in designing, analyzing and running large-scale distributed systems

  • Familiar with IAC/CM technology; like Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and Salt

  • Bonus points for experience with Cassandra, Elasticsearch or Kafka
