About the role:
As the Senior Software Engineer you will play an integral role in a new scrum team created to develop next generation drug pricing tools. You will work closely with the business to define and develop solutions to assist in developing optimal drug pricing strategies, using best-of-breed technologies to create scalable, maintainable, high performance applications. This role will be an ideal fit if you’re experienced in developing cloud-based applications utilizing Java, database, and other current technologies in an Agile development environment (with any front-end UI experience a plus).
Perform all phases of software engineering including; requirements analysis, application design, code development, and testing
Design and implement performance and operational enhancements
Design & Develop reusable components, patterns, and frameworks, encouraging innovation that will enable team velocity
Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and performance improvement
Conduct design and code reviews to ensure that developed code meets software engineering best practices and guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines
Participate in Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases
Work with a team of software engineers for one or more Agile scrum teams assigned to work on the project
Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and design solutions as required
Design, code, test, debug, and document software, whilst enhancing existing components to ensure that software meets business requirements
Work very closely with architecture groups to drive software solutions and promote collaborative innovation
Contribute actively to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software and be able to clearly articulate the implications of design/architectural decisions, issues and plans to technology leadership
Collaborate on design with other team members and product owners, both inside and outside of the scrum team

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field/equivalent experience
Strong Java development experience, working with Spring/Spring Boot
Experience using modern software engineering and product development tools/techniques including Agile/Scrum, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, DevOps etc.
Experience working with Public Cloud technologies (such as AWS, GCP or Azure)
Python experience strongly preferred
Front-end / UI experience with technologies such as Angular, HTML, CSS
Good knowledge of Microservices architecture and experience with SOAP/REST/JSON APIs
Experience working with a variety of databases such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle DB etc.
Experience in the healthcare industry
