About the role:
As a Data Scientist within our Advanced Analytics team you will join a multi-disciplinary team focused on improving Network Affordability, with a drive towards unprecedented growth and medical cost reduction. You will help to support the wider team with data requests as they build out a contract performance surveillance of analytics and improving our competitive analysis capabilities, allowing the acceleration and expansion of insight generation and decision making capabilities and our speed-to-market. Design, code and execute programs to extract, aggregate and manipulate data from various sources, identify data integrity issues
Develop new and maintain existing programs to analyze healthcare claims to support ad hoc data requests, including data processing, data cleansing and exploratory data analysis (EDA)
Transform data and/or develop insights for use in business decisions
Develop and support programs to run automated jobs to extract data, perform statistical analysis, and generate reports
Promote usability and software development best practices
Perform data quality control checks on code and deliverables
Participate in data sources research, identify data integrity issues, and select relevant information
Participate in interpretation business requirements and create technical specifications
Ensure high quality delivery to the customers and participate in formal delivery to business customers
Contribute to knowledge sharing, ideas and information relating to current data analysis technologies

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant STEM degree or equivalent experience
Proven success in projects that demonstrate strategic and agile thinking
Some commercial experience of relational databases, database structures and data analysis
Proficiency in Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Health care experience working with US medical and pharmacy claims
