Kforce Database Administrator in Detroit, Michigan
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Database Administrator in Detroit, MI.Responsibilities:
Responsible for administering database systems and programs
Works to ensure the accuracy and integrity of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and data security
Performs backups and recovery on database systems and develop data requirements along with configuring database parameters based on the requirements
May assist more senior level administrators in developing new methods
Troubleshoots or addresses significant limitations or problems of technology applications
Uses judgment and creativity and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions
Demonstrates a deep understanding of emerging technologies and trends that could impact the field and the business
Communicates in a manner that conveys credibility and confidence that he/she will deliver on the customers needs
Takes or directs persistent, repeated and varied actions to overcome technical or people obstacles, rejection or failure and resolve customer issues/concerns in a manner that exceeds normal expectations
Consistently seeks to develop self and skills needed to be prepared for future opportunities and be among the best in his/her field
Makes complex ideas or situations clear, simple, and/or understandable
Encourages and supports others to perform their jobs more effectively (e.g., provides advice, tools and/or resources)
Bachelor's of science degree and 6 years or equivalent experience
Knowledge of IT architecture, infrastructure standards, database platforms and programming languages and tools
Knowledge of standards applications in physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security
Ability to perform backups and database recovery
Ability to develop data requirements and configure database parameters accordingly
Must be able to interact with customer to set and meet project goals with only general instruction
Goes the extra mile for the customer to the extent that it is reasonable
Must be able to work with multiple groups to resolve data issues
