IHS Markit Client Support, Automotive in Detroit, Michigan

The Client Support, Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting the Account Manager and Account Executive. They will provide administrative and client support assistance to the Account Manager and Executive enabling them to maintain current business and drive revenue within IHS Markit’s market reporting, dealer network planning and recall product portfolios for existing and new clients. This position would interact with some client personas, as well as, account, product, sales operations, and production teams. The ideal candidate has great attention to detail, is well organized, and a self starter.   • Maintain in real time all sales activity in CRM platform with up to date information.

  • Assist with the preparation of new contracts (includes Order Forms, Master Agreements, Trial Agreements and Continuation Letters).

  • Work across Account Team, Sales Operations and Product team members to ensure accurate reporting in Salesforce.

  • Address invoicing and purchase order questions and work with Sales Operations or Finance to make corrections/adjustments as needed; resolve problems and handle complaints in a timely manner.

  • Manage contract renewals by monitoring renewal dates, working with Account Team to establish new pricing/terms and delivering required renewal paperwork to the client.

  • Stay up-to-date on our products/services/solutions suite, including new features and product launches.

  • Gather all required specs and documents (working with Account Team) for new and existing deliverables/schedule set-up meetings with clients and internal teams to review when required.

  • Prepare and provide quotes for all new and recurring business.

  • Collect all necessary documentation associated with project/deliverable to ensure billing and revenue recognition.

  • Work effectively and efficiently with internal product teams, account management teams, Marketing, and Sales Operations.

  • Represent and promote the company to all levels and functions at the OEMs and NSCs.

  • Develop and maintain a high level of understanding and knowledge of IHS Markit products and services offerings, and articulate them effectively to clients.

  • Track the progress of various simultaneous projects, review project plans and conducting regular status meetings, both internal and external.

  • Ensure all day-to-day client queries and issues are resolved to the client’s satisfaction within the minimum period of time, working with other departments within IHS where necessary.

  • May provide technical guidance to others involved in delivering products/services to clients and serve as a senior contact for internal resources.

  • Work closely with Production, Finance and Legal on various projects to ensure seamless product delivery and proper revenue recognition.

  • Facilitate and manage recall campaign fulfillment services with client, production team, and vendor.


  • BA or BS Degree in a related field or demonstrated SaaS and consultative selling experience

  • Intimate knowledge of Salesforce, including reporting tools and dashboard creation

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, dependability and responsiveness

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite – especially Word, Teams, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high energy, fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to organize with the ability to prioritize a diverse workload in a busy environment

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM software to track sales opportunities and customer activity

  • Sales oriented

  • Strong analytical and time-management skills
