PCB Piezotronics, Inc. Systems Engineer in Depew, New York

PCB Piezotronics has an exciting IT opportunity due to growth! We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our IT team. This position is located at our home office in Depew, NY. Our ideal candidate is located near the Buffalo, NY area.

Qualifications:

Education/Training: Minimum of a four year technical degree. Ten or more years of experience in the information technology field.

Experience: Minimum of five years in a role responsible for production systems in an enterprise environment. Basic understanding of manufacturing operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb ladders, crawl under desks and use power hand tools.

Other: Strong knowledge in configuration and support of VMware ESX/ESXi with vCenter, Windows 2003/2008 servers, MSCS, WLBS/NLB, IIS, Active Directory and policy administration, SAN(EMC), Citrix, Microsoft SQL

2005/2008, and Exchange. Also, experience is desired supporting networking equipment, including Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, Wireless LAN, Lotus Domino, Progress, and Syteline (ERP). Certifications a

plus. Should have proven problem solving abilities and experience employing a logical troubleshooting methodology.

PCB is involved in the development of technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.

For the purpose of our compliance with U.S. Export Control laws, U.S. citizen or permanent resident/green card is required.

Basic Function:

Follow all PCB procedures and forms in compliance to ISO9001.

Participate in the design, build, configuration, deployment, maintenance and support of PCB VMware and Microsoft Infrastructure. Systems should be implemented with consideration to high availability, redundancy, maintenance, shared environment planning, and security. The systems include, but are not limited to the enterprise server infrastructure, applications (ERP, CRM, E-mail, etc) network LANs and WLANs at multiple locations, monitoring and telephony support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.

Maximize service availability using a holistic approach of system and environment management. Administer all aspects of VMware Infrastructure, including installation, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting.

Manage all server hardware, software and configurations. Maintain accurate records of system hardware and software. Design, create technical specifications, and determine Bill of Materials for system replacements.

Administer all aspects of the Microsoft Infrastructure, including Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, etc. Adhere to technical change management, incident reporting, and testing processes.

Security administration of all systems through management and log review. Employ best practice security

configurations and policies. Evaluate system security state and make recommendations.

Assist in managing PCB’s remote access connectivity, including Citrix Metaframe. Monitor and optimize system performance. Participate in business continuity efforts, including maintenance of the service continuity plan, DR planning, and recovery exercises.

Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to meet business objectives. Perform analysis of expected time and monetary costs vs. benefits, short term/long term growth, storage requirements and upgrade path. Work with vendors to create bill of materials, and assist in the evaluation and negotiation of contacts and

agreements.

Act as a cooperative member of the Information Technology Team. Document systems and cross-train

other team members for a strategic depth of knowledge.

Performs System Maintenance and upgrades in available maintenance windows outside of normal business

hours.

On-call for after hours alerts, including network, system, and emergency user issues.

Escalation point and mentor for desktop support staff. Keep current on the latest technologies.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
