Senior Construction Manager

Reports to: VP of Construction

Location: Must be willing to relocate to Denver, Pasco, Hamilton, or Reno within 180 days after start of employment.

Job Overview:

A Senior Construction Manager at Local Bounti is responsible for implementing the preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and project closeout phases of a development project. Establishes and maintains project controls and project completions in a timely and cost-effective manner.

The Senior Construction Manager must have demonstrated skills in negotiating, critical thinking, time management and maintain an intense focus on delivering results against high standards. Develops strong working relationships with the general contractor, subcontractors, inspectors, and other related parties.

The Senior Construction Manager will report to the VP of Construction and is responsible for maintaining relationships in the construction community to provide market intelligence as well as ensure consideration for future business development opportunities. The incumbent will typically work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‐paced environment.


  • Facilitate the development of cost, time and material estimates including conceptual estimates prior to design.

  • Accountable for delivering projects including but not limited to, vendor management, budgets, schedules, communication both internally and external.

  • Facilitate the development master schedules based on scope, location, and business needs.

  • Responsible for coordinating multiple groups both internal and external.

  • Analyze monthly construction contractor schedule updates; develop payments based on schedule updates; assist with recovery schedules.

  • Maintain company database relative to market conditions labor rates affecting job costs as well as projections required for deal pursuit.

  • Resource/subject matter expert for real estate during due diligence.

  • Occasionally, develop and make presentations to groups to include clients and public meetings.

  • Own change management process with internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain project cost controls, reviewing and approving all change orders.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to construction (i.e., engineering, architecture, construction).

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in construction with emphasis in complex, fast‐ track, or phased project delivery.

  • Resource/subject matter expert for real estate during due diligence.

  • High degree of demonstrated organizational skills and problem‐solving ability.

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Independently write reports and correspondence.

  • Client/business development experience.

  • Articulate communication skills – verbal, pictorial, numerical – as relevant to the development process.

  • Business acumen, demonstrated by understanding of business implications of decisions; orientation to profitability; knowledge of market and competition; and alignment of work with strategic goals.

  • Superior negotiating skills.

  • Leadership skills, demonstrated by confidence in self and others; ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well; and ability to influence others.

  • Problem solving expertise, demonstrated by identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; scheduling software such as MSProject, Primavera.

  • LEED accreditation is a plus.
