We are currently seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer to join our team as a member of our growing Engineering and Design division. Engineers at McKinstry are unsurpassed in their ability to combine innovative problem solving with common sense design applications. Because of our design, build, operate, and maintain (DBOM) process, McKinstry engineers concern themselves not just with the construction of a building, but how it will operate over its entire lifetime. Every design choice is made toward one goal – delivering high-performance buildings that ensure occupant comfort and safety, keep energy/operating costs low, maximize client profitability, and protect the environment.

The successful candidate will be great at designing plumbing systems in the commercial space and will be proficient and able to coach/delegate activities within plumbing systems design, including calculations, pipe materials, specialty systems, equipment selection, and multi-discipline coordination. You will be a team leader who coordinates large project teams as well as training and mentoring other engineers. We prefer that you have strong Revit skills. You will be responsible for design production, managing multiple engineers, as well as doing calculations and modeling. As a project manager, you will manage team workload, budget, timelines and provide engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts. As a senior engineer at McKinstry, we will utilize your customer relations skills to attend design meetings, meet with clients, and participate in your community.

What we would like to see from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the engineering field is preferred.

  • Eight (8) years of experience in engineering design or related field is preferred. Onsite construction experience considered and welcome.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams required.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit preferred

  • Energy modeling experience preferred

  • Professional Engineer registration or CPD is preferred

  • LEED accreditation is preferred
