Mammography Technician -Women's Mobile Clinic (Job ID: 3977)Job SummaryAs one primary component of this job, and under the direction of aradiologist, performs screening and diagnostic mammograms at a technicallevel not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technicalimaging procedures that entail application of ionizing radiation;therefore, prudent judgment, strong technical skills, and a commitmentto patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics forindividuals assuming the position as a mammography technologist. Anothersecondary component of this job involves assisting the radiologist inperforming interventional breast procedures and breast ultrasound examinationsin order to contribute to a diagnosis.Responsibilities*Performs screening and diagnostic mammograms following appropriate assessmentby clinicians.*Performs breast ultrasound procedures in a timely manner according tophysicians' order, established protocols, and/or specific radiologistdirection.*Effectively interacts with Denver Health's PACS system through compliancewith data entry, image post-processing, image archiving tasks, imagequality assurance, and other related user interface activities.*Assists radiologists during interventional procedures, (breastbiopsies, and needle localizations). Such assistance may includeprocedures preparation, post-procedural patient care to include, but notlimited to, breast compression, retrieval of ice, and delivery of biopsyspecimen to laboratory.*Maintains records of examinations and other pertinent information on patientswithin Epic.*Performs QC/QA processes daily on digital equipment. Phantom image testmust be performed weekly.*Assembles order requisition, patient history sheet, and comparison films(when relevant) for radiologists' review within 30 minutes of completionof exa*Performs duties related to the management of pathology results thatinclude: printing and copying of pathology reports; verifying if patientsare scheduled properly; and entering of pathology results into the computersystem. Any or all of the following activities may be required each week asdirected by supervisor and/or radiologist(s):oPrint written pathology reports from previous week's patients' biopsies.oRefer abnormal results to surgical breast clinic for an appointment.oEducation patients of their scheduled procedures.oMeet with patients to discuss biopsy results.oAssist with preparation for breast conference.oUpdate the procedure book with pathology results.oCheck status of patients waiting for biopsies and document.oNotify PCP about patient's status.oCheck status of patients needing additional views and document.oEnter pathology results into Epic.oNotify care providers of patient's pathology results.oRemind radiologist to addend his/her interpretation by providing theradiologist a copy of the written pathology report.*Uses Epic to schedule breast diagnostic studies.*Assists in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking,and performing inventory checks on those medical supplies utilized whenperforming general radiographic examinations.*Maintains a clean and orderly working environment through wiping downexamination tables, changing linens, stocking supplies, andwashing/disinfecting general radiographic equipment.*Attends and par
