System One is currently seeking anADMS Engineeron a 12-month contract position located in Denver, CO.
This position will be with our client, a utility holding company serving more than 3.3 million electric customers and 1.8 million natural gas customers.
ADMS EngineerResponsibilities:
Responsible for the design, modeling, development and testing of a machine, structure or system
Develops functional requirements
Understands and applies standard engineering principles
Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates
Designs and tests components, and integrates components to produce final product
Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes
Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety
Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements
Will be responsible for testing and commissioning new Advanced Distribution Management System, including validation of proper design of user interface, system to system testing with other major enterprise systems (such as an existing SCADA) and testing telemetry to automated devices in the field
May also be responsible for designing other user interface aspects of new ADMS, including alarming and tagging
Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) Engineer III to supports the ADMS 2B, 2C, and 3
Subject matter expert on Control Center business processes, SCADA user interfaces, and testing of new devices and systems
Critical for ensuring a successful Distribution Control Center Go-Live for the SPS ADMS and will also support the ADMS Go-Lives in Metro East and Wisconsin
Critical for ensuring we meet our ADMS commitment to our customers
ADMS improves their service reliability and enhances the capabilities available to engineering staff and Control Center Operators by enhancing the ability to monitor and control the grid, which includes customer benefits such as improved restoration times for outages and a reduction in the number of customers impacted when there are outages
Candidate will be responsible for:
Reviewing, testing and approving substation displays within the ADMS
Developing procedures for commissioning substations and feeder devices from ADMS in the lead up to Go-Live
Point-to-point testing substations and feeder devices
Logging, monitoring, and correcting errors
Interfacing with Operations leaders to ensure that at go-live the status and health of the ADMS system is understood and a smooth handoff to the Control Center team is achieved
ADMS EngineerRequirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Strong preference given to candidates with extensive SCADA experience as well as utility operations
Duration:12-months

Pay Rate:$41.00 - $51.60/hr
