ConvaTec Continuous Improvement Process Engineer in Deeside, United Kingdom

The Continuous Improvement Process Engineer will support and improve the various manufacturing processes around site through analytical means and engineered solutions. Provide process expertise along with key skills relating to validation, process optimization and TPM. Support and deliver projects from the Project Portfolio and work closely with all teams to ensure that CI is embedded at every level within the unit and that all deliverables are constantly improved. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing Engineering expertise to the operations team focusing on improving machine performances to meet SQPDC requirements

  • Be the primary lead in Engineering Investigations, clearly identifying the Root Cause and identifying preventative actions to reduce re-occurrence

  • Support the training and development of Technicians

  • Support Operations team to develop/maintain TPM standards.

  • Identify opportunities to improve process capability, machine performance and uptime

  • Seek and deliver CI opportunities across the site, identifying and delivering cost savings

  • Lead Improvement Projects and Kaizen events.

  • Perform IQ, OQ, PQ validation

  • Update and maintain change control systems and associated documentation

  • Lead or participate in material trials, new product introduction, equipment & tool design, CAPAs, Engineering EHS activities, PM strategy

  • Compliance with GMP and EHS requirements and uphold these standards

  • Adhere to legal, corporate and site legislation, and procedures

Education/Qualifications:

Required:

  • Degree, or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline

  • Six Sigma Green Belt, or demonstrates a similar approach to problem solving

  • PC Skills including SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, CAD

  • Trained in IQ, OQ, PQ validation principles

  • Working knowledge of TPM.

Competencies:

Required:

  • Demonstrated experience in Manufacturing CI support role

  • Demonstrated expertise in problem solving

  • Demonstrated Experience working with TPM - Ideally experience in Autonomous Maintenance, Professional Maintenance, Early Equipment Management Pillar methodology.

  • Experience working within a lean manufacturing environment.

  • Must have in-depth working knowledge of all processes and equipment within focus factory

  • Understand the implications and requirements of external regulations, particularly GAMP5, FDA & MHRA, EHS and manufacturing legislation.

  • Demonstrated project and time management skills, including a track record of creating plans and meeting deadlines.

  • Proven ability to balance multiple, competing priorities

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and a good team player, proactive and flexible approach

  • External: External vendors, suppliers of engineering and automation services

Travel Requirements:

  • Yes/No – Yes, to support New Product and Process introduction

Language Skills Required:

  • Speaking: Yes, English

  • Writing/Reading: Yes, English

Working Conditions:

Working in an office based environment, with some time spent in a clean room environment.

Special Factors:

Flexibility to support the facility across shifts and weekends as required
