Job Description

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support for hardware and software in a hotel/resort environment. The individual will provide day-to-day support of all IT systems, business systems, office systems, computer networks and telephone systems throughout the hotel/resort. The support specialist should have experience providing customer service, basic hardware troubleshooting, POS system support and basic networking experience. The team member will respond to requests from hotel staff and IT leadership through email requests, verbal requests and the IT ticketing system. In addition, the IT support specialist will carry out additional tasks assigned by the Regional IT Manager, Director of Hotel Technology or the hotel General Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Windows 7, 8 and 10 troubleshooting and installation

  • Apple and Android device troubleshooting and setup

  • Basic networking skills including physical network troubleshooting and installation

  • Printer setup and installation

  • Light Audio Visual setup and troubleshooting experience

  • POS workstation setup, installation and troubleshooting

  • Microsoft AD lockout and password reset requests

  • Gmail and Google Apps support

  • Maintain hotel PC and tech inventory

Qualifications

  • Customer service skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Conflict management and resolution skills

  • Associates Degree and/or 2 years of equivalent IT job experience

  • POS system experience preferred

  • Hotel IT experience a plus (Hilton OnQ preferred but not required)

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods

  • General IT ticketing experience

  • Mobile device setup experience

Work Environment and Context

  • Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard.

  • Work schedule varies and may include extended work hours and work on evenings and weekends.
