Craig Technologies is seeking qualified candidates to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program. AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand. The role of this position is to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Simulators Division in Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

Detailed Description:

The Modeling / Simulation Engineer will:

  • . Coordinate SCARS initiatives within the simulation and Open Architecture industries. Organize and conduct working groups, collaboration activities, and potential industry engagements to communicate, promote, and evolve SCARS initiatives and concepts. Establish an Air Force SCARS presence within the simulation community through regular interactions with the other Uniformed Services, industry, and academia. Coordinate on AFRL activities such as Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) projects to advance SCARS technologies.

  • Coordinate SCARS initiatives within the simulation and security industries. Organize and conduct working groups, collaboration activities, and industry days to communicate, promote, and evolve SCARS security initiatives and concepts. Establish an Air Force SCARS presence with the simulation security community through regular interactions with the other Uniformed Services, Authorizing officials, and industry.

  • Provide SCARS technical and operational cybersecurity support.

  • Identify/recommend a migration path for simulator functionality from a decentralized to a centralized state that accommodates all common functionality assuming a stateless simulator

  • Work with the Government and simulator vendors as they respond to contractual direction to deliver Department of Defense Architectural Framework (DoDAF) views. Use those responses to analyze, model, characterize, and document current training systems addressing design approach, networks and interfaces, proprietary applications, and all other information that will support adaptation to a standard digitally modeled architecture. This directive includes gathering the architectural data to the sub-system level of all current platforms to develop and expand the system model of the simulator community, the interfacing networks, and all other such data as necessary to construct a complete and accurate as-is WNS training system environment, using model-based system engineering (MBSE) practices

  • Provide Market Research assessments, industry analysis including research trends in order to inform the government team, the acquisition strategies, and potential standards and technologies to be incorporated into simulators

Position Requirements:

. Qualifications The following skills are required:

  • Active Secret security clearance.

  • BA/BS degree and up to 3 years experience. If a candidate has no BA/BS degree an additional 4 years experience can be substituted for a total of 4 years experience.
