Dal-Tile PROJECT MANAGER - CONSTRUCTION in Dallas, Texas

Dal-Tile is seeking a dynamic Project Manager – Construction to manage Construction and Facilities projects including, but not limited to: new assets; remodels; right-sizes; relocations; and expansions and closures. This project manager will drive design standards and relationship with outside Architect/Engineering and General Contracting firms.

The major functions and scope:

  • Consults with Regional VPs, ROM’s, and SSC Managers while overseeing a broad range of projects

  • Plan, organize, and manage resources to ensure a cost effective, quality project is completed within project scope and budget

  • Coordinates and schedules materials, general contractors and IS (Information Services)

  • Travels to project location(s) and conducts pre-construction, punch list, and post construction inspections, as needed

  • Ensures lowest possible Company cost for change orders and determines that the appropriate authorizations exist prior to incurring to Company expenditures

  • Maintain communication with all stake holders involved in new assets, remodels, right-sizes, relocations, and expansions through meeting updates, conference calls and emails

  • Manages scope, mitigates risk, and conducts value engineering studies to help track and monitor construction and costs

  • Project accounting, ensures timely and accurate invoicing and mitigates billing issues

  • Work with the Sr. Director of Real Estate, Construction & Facilities and IS department on improving service and maintenance capabilities

  • Provide design leadership in alignment with real estate, construction, facilities site specific space plan programs, as well as coordination of construction documents and specifications

Knowledge, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent experience

  • Working knowledge of design, construction and facilities processes and procedures with a company or organization having multiple locations

  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience with increasing responsibilities, including budget responsibilities, in the commercial and/or retail industry that operate in multiple locations

  • Experience directly leading and managing outsourced professionals and tradespersons

  • Proven ability to manage administrative tasks associated with PM workload including capital approval development documents, bid processing, design drawing development and permitting, closing projects in a timely manner for accounting reconciliation
