Robert Half International Office Manager in Dallas, Texas

Description

A privately owned medical practice is looking for an experienced Office Manager to join their growing team. In this role you will be responsible for personnel management, human resources issues, filing and tracking claims and performing collection activities. You will also be responsible for managing the front and back office staff of this clinic.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees daily office operations. Identifies and resolves operational problems.

  2. Supervises personnel. Reconciles employee time sheets and maintains leave records. Prepares payroll for employees and physicians.

  3. Assists with hiring and training of assigned staff.

  4. Maintains provider applications and credentialing information for participating health plans.

  5. Manages accounts payable. Prepares daily bank deposit and performs monthly reconciliation.

  6. Plans and directs registration, patient insurance, billing and collections and data processing to ensure accurate patient billing and efficient account collection.

  7. Reviews current status of patient accounts to identify and resolve billing and processing problems in a timely manner.

  8. Maintains knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures including government, insurance and third-party payer regulations.

  9. Prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.

  10. Maintains patient confidentiality.

  11. Provides coverage to front office as needed.

  12. Performs other related duties as directed or required.

Requirements

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of five-seven years’ medical office management, including billing and collections experience.

  2. Experienced working within EClinical Works required

Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.

  2. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.

  3. Knowledge of computer programs and applications.

  4. Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to communicate in written format.

  5. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding.

  6. Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.

SKILLS:

  1. Skill in effective personnel management including training staff and delegating duties.

  2. Skill in trouble-shooting insurance problems and appealing claims.

  3. Skill in maximizing insurance collections.

  4. Skill in written and verbal communication.
