Description Robert Half Finance has a client in the Real Estate & Property industry seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic Controller to join their esteemed company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Dallas, Texas region.
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
