Robert Half Finance is searching for an ambitious Controller to join a reputable Real Estate & Property company. The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Dallas, Texas region.
What you get to do every single day
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

Requirements - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Solid understanding of MRI
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
