JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education is seeking educators or individuals with an interest to develop and instruct unique week-long summer day camps (content areas may include STEM, Art, Nature, and Sports) for elementary and middle school-aged students. Camps are designed to provide children with an educational, friendly, safe, and fun experience.

Instructors are needed June 28 through July 2, 2021, and July 12 through July 16, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Penn State Alumni are encouraged to apply.

Applicants are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline with prior teaching experience, and to enjoy working with children. Camp curriculum must include hands-on activities. Successful candidates should have excellent communication skills, and be able to lift and carry equipment and materials. Applications must be submitted electronically and include an application, cover letter to include a description of proposed camp with recommended grade level, course outline for a five-day 15-hour camp (3 hours per day) or a five day 30-hour camp (6 hours per day), and curriculum vitae or resume to be considered. Applicants will be reviewed until all positions are filled.

Employment with the University for this job will require successful completion of the Pennsylvania (PA) Publicly Available Clearances:

  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance,

  • PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the

  • FBI Criminal History Background Check.
