Excellent communication skills and a propensity for teamwork.
Demonstrated ability to write high-performing, robust, and maintainable C or assembly code.
Strong signal processing fundaments in time and frequency-domain convolution, difference equations, multi-rate sampling, and transform mathematics.
Pragmatic knowledge of real-world signal processing including DSP architectures, data and instruction cache considerations, DMA strategies, headroom and bit depth, fixed and floating point representations, and coefficient smoothing.
Ability to assess multiple competing solutions in terms of performance, development time, and long term maintenance.
Ability to lead optimization strategies especially based on specific capacities of processor architectures.
Apple’s advanced spatial audio technology is a cornerstone of our augmented reality frameworks; it is at the core of any compelling user experience. This is a signal processing role fusing cutting edge R&D with Apple’s proprietary compute platforms. Responsibilities include writing robust, highly-optimized, and low-power code, profiling candidate implementations, and contributing necessary support code.
Education & Experience
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience with a Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Musical Signal Processing, or a closely related field. A Bachelor’s degree will be considered with extensive work experience and demonstrated knowledge of signal processing fundamentals.
