Aerojet Rocketdyne is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our facility in Culpeper, VA .
This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
The successful individual will be responsible for technical and administrative leadership of the Manufacturing Engineering group within Operations. This manager provides manufacturing engineering process direction and leadership to manufacturing engineers supporting both production and new product components. This will include both inert and energetic processing areas.
35% - Provides manufacturing engineering process direction and leadership to manufacturing engineers supporting production and new product components.
35% - Provides coaching and mentoring for career development and advancement of team members.
15% - Works closely with program management, process areas and product work centers to provide timely and qualified technical support to customer needs and requirements.
10% - Development, communication and execution of assigned strategies and metrics.
5% - Develops and manages team overhead budget.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related science discipline and at least 9 years of related technical experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
U.S. Citizenship Only Required. Dual Citizenship does not meet job qualifications. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.
Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:
Strong leadership, problem solving and written/verbal communication skills are required.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time.
Must have the ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to a variety of situations (technical, organizational, etc.).
Experience with MS Office products is required.
Must be a motivated team player.
Candidates should possess the skills to coach/mentor individuals to work effectively in a government and commercial facility environment under time and budget constraints.
Must consistently meets his/her commitments.
Ability to motivate and inspire change.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
