Flooid Limited Test Manager in Coventry, United Kingdom

Flooid Ltd are looking for a Quality Test Manager to join our team.

As the Quality Test Manager, you will be focused on one or more projects at once, ensuring the quality output is high and the deliveries are made on time. You will be pivotal to the successful delivery of Flooid’s product development and its delivery to our customers. The Test Manager will feed into the process, strategy and own the triaging and client management of the projects you are assigned, bringing a focus on customer success into the heart of everything we do.

You will report to the Head of QA and will work closely with stakeholders to define and implement strategies to guarantee the quality of our software deliverables and production operations. You will establish best-in-class operations while mentoring a team of highly-motivated QA experts to become the beating heart of quality within the organisation.

You need to be a leader with flawless communication skills who can operate at many levels, from challenging technical teams to solve critical problems and develop innovative solutions, through to senior “C-level” engagement, ensuring quality is represented and championed throughout the business.

  • Being the face of Quality for your assigned project.

  • Delivering crystal clear communications and visibility of quality metrics and progress to the customer.

  • Creating, maintaining, and improving test metrics for the project.

  • Owning and managing the Defect Management process from Triage through to delivery.

  • Co-ordinating the compilation of customer supporting documentation for software deliveries.

  • Supporting the Head of QA, with designing, managing and maintaining all Quality Assurance and Engineering practices, standards, methodologies, and metrics.

  • Ensuring quality gates are upheld.

  • Daily interactions with the client to build a collaborative, and trust-based relationship.

  • Provide point of contact for any and all quality issues identified.

  • Driving continuous improvement through the strengthening of quality tools, skills and application of experience

  • Overseeing test plan creation and validating test schedules to meet deliveries.

  • Monitoring the teams and deliveries to ensure that quality output is not compromised and that we deliver software with a quality first approach.

  • Taking responsibility for the output of other quality professionals within your assigned team through coaching, guidance, and support.

  • Consider client expectations in reviewing quality standards, escalating to Head of QA as required.

  • Working with other roles within the development team, to understand, mitigate and resolve software issues, and ensuring these lessons are incorporated in the test approach, both manual and automated.

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders on delivery timelines, resources and quality outputs both inside and outside the business.

  • Act as a role model for other quality professionals within the business, by adhering to and settings standards of communication, attention to detail, and quality principles.

You will need to bring:

  • Experience in client engagement and management.

  • Outstanding communication skills with a highly adaptable approach.

  • A strong head for numbers and analysis, providing accurate assertions based on evidence

  • Experience of leading process improvements and tracking the outcomes.

  • Proven experience in software development life cycle specialising in the QA/QE contribution.

  • Knowledge of test automation and ability to make suggestions on the approach.

  • Experience in both functional and non-functional validation of enterprise level software.

  • Understanding of QA best practice outside the business.

  • Leadership capabilities, a strategic mind-set.

  • Risk-based testing concepts and application.

  • A proactive approach, a strong mind, quick thinking and assertiveness.

  • The ability to motivate a team, recognise talent and bring out the best out of individuals.

  • The ability to travel up to at most 20% post COVID restrictions.

We’d like it if you could bring:

  • Excellent knowledge of Risk Management, Risk Identification and Risked Based Testing.

  • Experience of QA strategies for Cloud deployed software suites

  • Practical exposure to and knowledge of Security Testing practices / principles.

  • Experience of Agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban.

  • Previous line management experience.

  • Experience of the retail and hospitality domains

  • Prior experience of using JIRA, Confluence, Cucumber, Oracle VirtualBox, Windows and Linux environments, Gatling, JMeter, Concordion, Selenium.

  • Prior knowledge of TDD, BDD, DDD, Page Object Model, and Fail Fast approaches.
