Experian Digital Finance Director in Costa Mesa, California

The Digital Finance Director will have responsibility over design and delivery of a wide spectrum of large strategic initiatives that capitalize on emerging technologies to improve underlying Finance operations, processes, and systems. This role is a critical business partner to the Finance Leadership team and their staff. He/she must have prior large-scale technology transformation experience, be comfortable lending advice, influencing executives/functional leaders, and giving direction at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of management and organizational principles and self-motivation are essential. This position requires flexible work hours.

What you’ll be doing

The Digital Finance Director will be expected to successfully:

  • Lead digital finance program for North America Finance, includes partnering with finance leaders to create vision and roadmap to drive digital transformation across finance teams
  • Explore, design, build, and validate data models and reporting/analytical/business intelligence capabilities in collaboration with finance SMEs and I.T. teams
  • Identify business and cost transformation opportunities that includes traditional drivers (centralization, standardization, process improvement) as well as digital drivers (robotic process automation (RPA), intelligent automation, business intelligence, artificial intelligence etc.)
  • Maximize the ROI on technology investments and leverage digital capabilities to design Finance strategies
  • Partner with global teams on program prioritization and identify/promote cutting edge technology advancements
  • Provide finance expertise to bridge business needs with system capabilities
  • Build and promote standardized best practices to optimize core finance systems and leverage automation toolkits
  • Drive innovation efforts and POC activities to continuously expand automation and BI capabilities across NA finance
  • Lead change management activities to embed new technology adoption, including building communities of practice, training programs and effective support models
  • Oversee technology implementation projects, including managing deliverables from internal and external IT teams
  • Represent NA region on global digital finance forums
  • Mentor and promote team development and growth opportunities

What your background looks like

Education and Certifications:

  • BS/BA in computer science, accounting, or finance. MBA, CPA, or relevant master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in consulting, financial management/finance transformation responsibilities
  • 5 years developing and delivering business intelligence and automation capabilities for a finance organization
  • Comprehensive understanding of finance and accounting processes and the business intelligence and automation tools used to facilitate/enhance those processes
  • Demonstrated ability to link business-driven / corporate-level strategic needs to technology and application design. Working knowledge of enterprise technology solutions: Oracle, Hyperion, OBIEE, Tableau, Salesforce
  • Analytical and critical thinker with the ability to gain buy-in and build consensus with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale system implementations projects
  • Solid background on best practices for designing and implementing BI capabilities with complex data structures to deliver dynamic and insightful dashboards and visualizations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization
  • Results oriented: setting goals and priorities that maximize the use of resources available to consistently deliver quality results
  • Extensive experience in quickly identifying issues/relationships and offer solutions/alternatives
