Carlton Senior Living Senior Director of FPA in Concord, California

PURPOSE

The Senior Director of FPA will be responsible for developing and modeling pro forma financial statement and projections for new development properties, enhancement properties and other major projects. The Senior Director will also lead the annual budgeting process and implement new analytical tools to help enhance the business operations. This role will manage three direct reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job .

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Develop pro forma statements for new development projects and acquisitions
  • Prepare annual budgets in conjunction with community Executive Directors
  • Project quarterly forecasts
  • Analyze weekly spend-downs and work with Executive Directors on action items
  • Develop new analytics to improve efficiencies and overall business practices
  • Conduct historical analysis on financial decisions and evaluate its effectiveness
  • Audit system processes and ensure financial integrity
  • Supervise Reporting Manager System Implementation

  • Assist with evaluation and selecting new ERP cloud-based system

  • Lead system implementation
  • Integrate all company systems with ERP where possible
  • Create new reports
  • Assist/Lead with other systems throughout the company as it relates to finance/accounting
  • Serve as super-user, champion and trainer on new systems Revenue Cycle

  • Supervise Director of Revenue Cycle

  • Oversee Accounts Receivable functions
  • Analyze revenue trends and ensure all care revenue is captured
  • Conduct local market analysis for each community to maximize revenue potential Purchasing

  • Supervise Purchaser

  • Oversee Purchasing functions
  • Analyze expense trends and find opportunities for savings
  • Conduct group purchasing power analysis and ensure maximum expense savings through strategic partnerships with vendors and GPOs. Other

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, including computer study.

  • Prefer Master’s Degree or CPA
  • Prefer at least 5 years of accounting experience including preparation of financial statements, analyzing accounts and budgeting SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

  • Interact with our customers – including residents, family members, and all staff members – according to the concepts identified by the Carlton Way, SKILLS

Able to calculate information using business math ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. SKILLS

  • 10+ years accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience

  • Must have strong analytical skills with proven call to action results
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, Great Plains, etc. Experience leading an implementation is a plus
  • Must have advanced excel skills including pivot tables, macros and complex formulas
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Powerpoint, Word and Access LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
