The Substation Engineering Project Manager will manage, direct and coordinate all aspects of work related to substations, switching stations and/or collector stations. The Project Manager will report directly to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for the profit and loss of individual projects, and the successful completion of projects within the project scope, schedule and budget. Additionally, the successful candidate will play a vital role in the growth of our substation engineering services and will utilize his/her exceptional leadership skills and strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to successfully deliver world-class engineering projects, while also serving as a senior resource in developing new business, and ultimately growing and managing a substation engineering team.
What you’ll be doing:
Initiate, plan, execute, control and close-out of major electric transmission and substation projects.
Develop proposals and recommendations in response to client requests.
Perform detailed civil and structural design for all aspects of transmission lines, distribution lines, and substation projects.
Utilize project management techniques and quality control measures to achieve superior financial and client results.
Manage engineering projects and project teams to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to client’s satisfaction and that projects are adhering to QA/QC guidelines.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the client and all project stakeholders.
Lead business development efforts through successful relationship building.
What you need:
Progressive experience in substation and overhead transmission line engineering.
Progressive experience managing all aspects of complex multi-faceted engineering projects.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, and proven ability to lead diverse project teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Self-starter will strong drive and can-do attitude.
Strong relationship building and business development abilities.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school is required.
PE is required.
