Perspecta Systems Administrator in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Responsibilities

Serve as a Senior System Administrator specializing in Windows System administration hosted on VMWare 6.7 virtual environment.

Install, configure, and manage Windows domain on multiple security domains.

Perform maintenance and validate appropriate system updates are applied.Install, configure and manage virtualization environments.

Install, configure and manage instances in Amazon Web Services cloud based computing environment.

Evaluate new systems information technologies and their effect on the environment.

Ensure that cyber security and OPSEC policies, principles, and practices are an integral element of the operating environment.

Implement Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) policies on all systems within the enclave.

Integrate hardware and software components within the systems environment. Continually monitor and fine-tune performance of the Information Systems.

Apply Information Technology (IT) expertise, including feasibility studies, technical evaluation, justification, acquisition/procurement, installation, implementation, management, and administration of IT systems.

Create, update and comply with SOPs and other documentation (ex. Change and configuration management). Keep up-to-date on IT news regarding networks and security.

Assist with the installation and updates of custom software (built both in-house and from 3rd parties).

Develop or modify installation guides for software to ensure deployment repeatability.

React to trouble tickets submitted by JFT personnel.

Troubleshooting hardware and software complex problems and taking appropriate corrective action and/or interacting with IT staff or vendors in performing dynamic testing, support and troubleshooting functions with very little to no supervision.

Provide 3rd level support for client-side issues.

Complete projects in a timely manner and produce documentation as required.

Monitor server performance and capacity, forecast system demands and recommend upgrades, expansions and reconfigurations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Active TS/SCI eligible clearance

IAT Level 2 certification or higher

At least 5 year of experience with Virtual infrastructure (i.e.VMWare vSphere)

At least 5 years of experience building, configuring, and managing Microsoft Windows servers in production environment.

At least 5 years of experience deploying Microsoft Windows based solutions such as Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft IIS, DNS, DHCP

At least 5 years of experience utilizing Patching tools to manage and deploy software patches

Preferred:

Real-world, hands on experience with at least one IaaS environment (AWS, Azure or GCP)

Experience with enterprise databases (MS SQL Server)

Experience migrating systems from on-prem to Cloud.

Labor Cat requirements:

Senior = At a minimum must have experience in design, development, testing and evaluation of computer based systems. Must possess specific experience in the analysis and design of business applications on complex, large-scale systems, including experience in data base management concepts. Knowledge of state-of-the-art storage and retrieval methods is required, as well as the ability to formulate specifications for computer programmers to use in coding, testing, debugging of computer software. Develop plans for ADP systems from project inception to conclusion. Defines the problem, and develops system requirements and program specifications, from which programmers prepare systems documentation programs, and tests.
