The Director of Revenue Cycle oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of the organization's revenue cycle activities to optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Reviews, designs, and implements processes surrounding admissions, pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, compliance, collections and other financial analyses to ensure that clinical revenue cycle is effective and properly utilized. Highlight of Duties for the Revenue Cycle Director:

  • Tracks numerous metrics related to the patient engagement cycle including record coding error rates and billing turnaround times to develop sound revenue cycle analysis and reporting. Manages relations with payers and providers to generate high reimbursement rates and a low level of denials.

  • Ensure all responsible areas are compliant and responsive with the company's goal of continuous improvement of our revenue cycle and customer service functions.

  • Responsible for the development and retention of competent supervisors and staff that align with the organization's objectives.

  • Provide leadership and support to supervisors ensuring they have a strong understanding of their roles and responsibilities and the proper skill set and training to succeed.

  • Responsible for payor relationships and third-party contract pricing, ensuring key relationships are strong and responsive and contracts are current and up-to-date.

  • Oversee and lead revenue cycle process improvement.

  • Working with leadership and patient operational service to coordinate, train and communicate system enhancements, policy and standards.

  • Directs revenue cycle analysis, reporting and communication of key indicators related to client access, accounts receivable, aging, bad debt, collection of payments, team performance and revenue cycle performance. This includes identifying and reporting of information that puts the organizations assets at risk.

  • Develop and implement processes and policies compliant with regulatory standards.

  • Responsible for the generation of timely journal entries that accurately reflect claims and accounts receivable activity.

  • Oversee staff completion of all mandatory compliance and regulatory trainings.

  • Effectively communicate with the Vice President of Accounting and Finance.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, MBA preferred.

  • Five or more years of progressive health care revenue cycle operations with at least 5 years of previous management/supervision experience.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

  • Experience with medical claims processing, collections and cash flow management.

  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.

  • Accounting experience desired.
