The selected applicant will serve as the Data Administrator foran integrated contractor team, supporting high-fidelity/high-resolutionmodeling of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) in avirtualized, high-performance, high-capacity environment to provideModeling and Simulation as a Service (MSaaS). The qualified candidate willbe responsible for supporting the Integration, Test and Verification oflarge-scale data storage environments to support the Missile DefenseAgency's digital modeling/simulation programs. This includes working withmany of the following technologies: data pipelines, data services,operational data stores, data warehouses, data marts, big data stores,data mining, big data visualization and experiment designs. The rightindividual will display both a passion for data science and leading a culturalchange in how data is used throughout the organization regarding theseefforts.This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO OR Huntsville, ALPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:Advanced knowledge of database structure and theoryExperience with data systems RDBMS (MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres), NoSQL(MongoDB), and the Hadoop EcosystemExperience with file, object (ECS), and block storageExpertise in high availability, backup/recovery, performance tuning andinstall/upgrade in data system technologiesAble to facilitate monitoring and alerts on data systems to meet SLA.Well versed in Linux/Windows operating system and the ability to tune fordata system performanceKnowledge of SQL programing languagesExperience maximizing the IO performance gains associated with parallelprocessing, partitioning/sharding, indexing, views, map-reduce for exampleExpert at RBACJob RequirementsMinimum Requirements:A Bachelor of Science degree in Data Management, Computer Science,Business Information Management, Management Information Systems, orrelated technical disciplineFive (5) to eight (8) years applicable progressively complex relatedexperience.Required SkillsDemonstrated expertise and experience with emerging data technologies such asColumnar, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, MapReduce, High-PerformanceComputing Cluster (HPCC), Hydra, or similar.Experience performing system administration in a Linux environment.Familiarity with designing appropriate metadata schema for multiple intendeduses.Experience writing data management plans that include data descriptions,protocols, workflows, metadata standards, data storage and backup,access/sharing strategy, data preservation plan, security plan, androles and responsibilities.Experience performing automated data quality verification against...
