Jacobs is seeking an Algorithm Subject Matter Expert to support the newly awarded NISSC II contract. Your career at Jacobs enables NISSC to fulfill its mission to “provide classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at NISSC sites.” As a member of our team, you will support corporate and customer mission to provide world-class IT services and support that connects systems and users across NORAD in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, cyber security, systems administration, and other mission-critical areas.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise to Chief Scientist in support of the Missile Warning/Missile Defense (MW/MD) mission.
Delivers technical oversight of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) operational algorithms.
Responsible for the delivery of annual mission-critical operational databases to the MW/MD Community and OPIR data producers and stakeholders.
Responsible for prototyping, developing and testing new threat processing algorithms.
Algorithms are prototyped in MATLAB and migrated for implementation into the operational environment.
MW/MD community support required, which includes conducting analysis of live events that support program forecasting.
This position is expected to pay $100,000 – $130,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Serves as a technical specialist for the company in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes, for assigned areas of responsibility. Explores unique or controversial subject areas, defines scope, selects problems for investigation, and develops concepts and approaches. Applies advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes, in specialized areas of expertise serves as company specialist. Acts independently to recommend changes in the technical approach or emphasis of projects, and completes progress and/or conceives plans, and develops new technical methods or approaches as warranted by advancements in the state-of-the-art technology. Provides direct communication of unique/innovative practices between the company and the client.
Requires a BS degree in appropriate discipline and a minimum of 14 years of direct engineering experience, or a MS degree and 12 years of direct engineering experience, or a PhD degree and 9 years direct engineering experience.
Proficiency in the use of MATLAB for algorithm development desired.
